What Do We Do?

We identify business opportunities and design practical and elegant solutions that positively impact health and happiness. Sometimes we identify the opportunity and find the right partners to execute it and sometimes we build it ourselves. Other times, we help guide clients so their product or service is simple, elegant, and wrapped up with a business strategy that leverages their core competencies.

What Have We Done?

Welcome to The Future Well.

Grant and I met almost two years ago as we were both fighting the same fight-- how to improve health and happiness in new ways-- from two very different positions. Grant was at Humana doing very interesting things with social connectivity and health. I was at a startup I co-founded, Hello Health, designing and redefining what it means to visit your doctor. We both had the same mission. Now that we have so many new ways for everyone to be able to connect to one another so easily, both online and in person, what would that mean to people's health? Even more importantly, what can we do to redefine health? How can our culture's understanding of health migrate from sickness to activity, healthy eating, and meaningful personal relationships? How can we leverage our creativity and all these opportunities we now have to foster happiness? How can we build out our own concepts and how can we work with consumer-facing brands to facilitate meaningful changes in peoples' health? Grant and I were growing restless. We had too many ideas to just sit on them. We had too much curiosity. We had to act. We couldn't stand for this unsettling trend toward unhealthy behavior resulting in a sort of societal depression. That kept us up at night. We wanted to change the world with successfully executed creative solutions to reverse this trend and create health and happiness in the world. So we joined forces with lofty goals of changing the world's health with elegantly designed, innovative services and products, new ways of connecting and communicating, and our unending mission to help people feel their best. That's why I went to medical school, spent five years in residency, got my master's in public health, and created a whole new way of visiting your doctor. And that's why Grant has worked endlessly for the past 20 years to understand consumers and create innovative new products and services that made their lives better. We're optimistic about the future...very.

this is officially my new favorite blog. it's a rare blend of 1. invaluable information on health and 2. fresh, forward thinking ideas and fantastic design and writing. i have always separated those two worlds, as i visit my blogs daily (jjjjound, design crush, 2 or 3 things i know, etc etc) for creative inspiration, then open up sophomoric fitness magazines (i won't name names) and hit the gym, the water, the bike.. you guys have connected these two worlds.

it's honestly all very exciting to me. posts like the hot pocket poster and videos like 'the cost of food' make me both inspired to get leaner and healthier, and thankful, for having grown up with a dietitian as a mother. thank you for The Future Well, Jay and Grant.

Wow…thank you! You've surely nailed it in terms of what we're trying to do. It really does blow my mind that there's really nobody connecting design and health. I very much appreciate your interest. This is a partnership with passionate people like yourself. And I think we'll make some serious change. Thank you again.
